Fine Gael Local Representative for Ballymun and Glasnevin, Noel Rock, today welcomed the two awards which were won by Ballymun in the National Tidy Towns award on Monday. Speaking following the event, which was held locally in The Helix, Noel said: “I am genuinely delighted that Ballymun Tidy Towns have been recognised for their great work in the community in the last few months. There’s no question that the energy, enthusiasm and dedication of their volunteers and organisers has paid off in a big way”.

Ballymun representative Mr. Rock said: “This type of volunteerism and activism is the backbone of our community, and that’s why I’m glad to see it rewarded today with two awards. It’s fantastic that our area has picked up two awards, given we hadn’t won any up until today, and full credit must go to all of those who have worked hard to achieve this”.

Continuing, Mr. Rock said: “The awards, which were most improved in the community endeavour category and the National Notice Nature Award, are both great boosts to the community and I have no doubt that it will mean even more volunteers and activity in the weeks and months ahead. Community service and volunteerism is so important, especially for communities like ours, and I’m delighted to see it rewarded”.
