I was glad to attend today’s Iona Family Fun Day in St. Columba’s on Iona Road.
It was a very well attended event, filled with families and, all in all, over 200 people were there.
What struck me most about the Day was how affordable it was for everybody in the area. Clearly the organisers have put a great deal of time and work into both the event itself and in keeping it affordable for families of all means to attend: this is a vital aspect of any such community day.
I’d love to see more of these sorts of days around Dublin. I think there is plenty that could be learned from the organisers of this event, and I hope to see plenty more such days in the future.
