I am delighted to say that over €350,000 has been contributed to sports projects in our local area by Fine Gael Ministers Leo Varadkar and Michael Ring as part of the Sports Capital Programme which funds local projects.
As Local Area Representative in Glasnevin and Ballymun for Fine Gael, I am delighted with this outcome. It’s a testament to the great
work done by local sporting organisations in the area that the Government has decided to match their dedication with some
funding. I was glad to support these bids, and will be delighted to support further bids in the future as we seek to promote sporting excellence locally.
There can be no doubt that €350,000 is a lot of money, and that it will make a demonstrable impact on the local area. I was glad to give these projects my full backing when I saw that they were shortlisted in the area, and put together correspondence to support
such, so I am glad to see the endeavours have paid off. I’m looking forward to seeing this funding going towards these worthy projects and
improving the local area.
