Fine Gael TD for Dublin North West, Noel Rock, has praised Gardaí for what is understood to be the seizure of three guns, thought to include two machine guns, and a kilogram of cocaine in Finglas today (Friday).

Speaking on the matter, Deputy Rock said: “Today’s seizure is down to the diligent work of local Gardaí and their relentless pursuit of all leads locally. They have clearly worked hard to tackle crime and once again have managed to take more guns and drugs out of the wrong hands before they can be used to inflict harm.”

Deputy Rock continued: “In recent years, the challenges faced by Gardaí have become more complex, but they continue to rise to these challenges and deserve all the praise they get. I doubt today will be the last such seizure in Dublin, and each one is to be welcomed. The addition of extra Gardaí in Finglas under Fine Gael in Government has clearly had a positive impact.”

Deputy Rock concluded: “Finglas is a great community and a great area. 99.9% of our people here want to have nothing to do with this kind of thing. I’m ambitious for Finglas and want to see it continue to receive investment and resources.”
